The lines look brighter for about a week, and then the cement binder starts giving out. That's when you get crumbling, staining that sets in faster every time, and eventually a repair you didn't budget for. This one cleans the grout and leaves the binder alone, so the lines you paid for stay where they are.

Acid is the main reason surfaces wear out early. It breaks down the bonding agents in tile, grout, stone, quartz and luxury vinyl. The tricky part is that acid hides in plenty of products people think of as the safe choice, including vinegar, citrus sprays and CLR. Bleach and ammonia cause their own trouble. We don't use any of the three.

Use it on: Sanded and unsanded cement grout, epoxy grout, tile joints and shower floors.

How to use it: Spray it right on the surface.
